Peter von Scholten freed the slaves in 1848. As the governor of the Danish West Indian Islands (today The U.S. Virgin Islands), he opposed his own king and government. He had a wife back in Denmark – and one in the West Indies, and he loved both equally.

A period epic in which the conflict rages between power and glory, on the one hand, and love and loyalty on the other.
